|Maynard Reimer, Chairman
Maynard is a self-made entrepreneur, with a history rooted in farming, trucking, and construction. In 2003 he worked with pre-engineered metal buildings, and in 2008 branched out to become a supplier and erector of metal buildings for Wedgcor Buildings of Denver and All American Systems (an NCI Company) out of Houston. Maynard brings his expertise and advice in terms of hauling; assessments of existing facilities; and the construction/design of the planned facilities to the company.
|Allan Parent, CEO
Allan is an independent businessman with a desire to help kids and a love for the sport of rodeo. His interest is in developing a corporate culture that supports cohesiveness in the industry and fosters coordinated efforts towards improving the financial rewards available to all participants of rodeo. He supports the goals of an industry-wide benefits program; training; events and showcases for new entrants; and scholarships and sponsorships for young athletes.
|Colleen DeMaere, Administrator
Colleen works with government, businesses and volunteer groups to facilitate creative approaches to problem solving. Her background with startup companies has placed her in contact with valuable resources in the area of finance, accounting and law. She will work to set the base administration and to develop the considerable human resources that are needed to meet the goals of WPRSG.
Calvin built his career in the oil and gas industry for over 21 years, with the last eight as a consultant to the industry. He has managed small companies and pipeline crews in northern B.C. and Alberta. As he works with large companies, he identifies and supports First Nations’ economic opportunities. Calvin has been active in rodeo for his entire career and is excited to be involved in the reinvention of the industry.
Dave is an icon in the Canadian rodeo industry, building his career through bare back riding. Dave has strong ties to the Calgary Stampede and retired from the rodeo circuit to develop training schools aimed at new participants. Dave presently works with youth and disabled riders, and his strong support teams are prepared to develop and expand the Academy curriculums and training programs for the betterment of the industry.
Vic has been heavily involved in breeding and cutting horses for over 30 years. His company is Almond Performance Horses, and he has spent his career in the community of Ponoka, Central Alberta. Vic is very active in his local area, donating time and sponsorships to local cowboys and cowgirls. His passion for the industry and his facility will provide WPRSG with excellent resources for years to come.
Dr. Joel Christie has over forty years of direct senior and executive management experience and specializes in the development of organizations and the management of strategic change in human service organizations. His doctoral studies focused on Organization Development and the Management of Strategic Change in complex organizations. The guidance and advice that Joel can provide to WPRSG as it grows is invaluable, and he is excited to be part of enhancing the access urban families have to the western culture of rodeo while improving the delivery of rodeo event education and training.
